linocut. 18x18. This is the largest print I've made to date and it was quite an undertaking. Special care was required in differentiating the antlers from the birch trees. While the carving took several weeks, it was the pulling of the print that took the most work. It's actually a two-man job. I've made one version on brown craft paper, which I think works really well with the subject matter [and is available at Mormor!] I've more recently also made two others on Thai unryu paper. One hangs proudly in our home and the other is currently hanging from a make-shift drying line because I have no idea where to store large prints! |
