linocut. 8x10. For this print the order of the day was Big Chunks o' Ink. I wanted the negative space to do the work while conveying the form with minimal detail. In my experience--especially without using a press--there's a direct relationship between the size of the swath of flat linoleum and the difficulty of getting good, even coverage. This fellow asked for a very thin paper and I responded with 45gsm mulberry. I'm rather proud of how this one turned out and see it as a great partner to one of my earlier prints. |
